Dusty Ape Careers
We are looking for coffee enthusiasts & team players to fill part-time and full-time roles to pack coffee, barista, roast coffee and assist in managing a busy coffee roastery. Whichever rung of the coffee-knowledge ladder you're on, if coffea arabica is your shtick -- we should be talking (coffee agnostics and tea-only drinkers need not apply!)
We have the following roles right now:
We are looking for an all rounder to make coffees in our coffee bar, serve at our shop counter, pack online & wholesale orders and help keep the roastery neat and running consistently and smoothly ~ just like a perfect espresso.
Our ideal candidate would be...
- Friendly, helpful and approachable with a desire to engage customers to choose from over 20 different speciality coffees
- Able to make banging espresso, pour latte art and know what a V60 is (or be dead keen to learn and find out!)
- Hard-working, responsible and able to juggle constantly changing workloads
- Keen to support their fellow co-workers without being asked ~ in other words... Loves being a team player!
In return you'll get the most varied job, loads of training and the best ever coffee. Part-time 3 days a week, immediate start.
Are you an experienced coffee roaster or keen to learn the trade?
You'll need a methodical and enquiring mind, a good palate and an attention to detail. Your role will be following roast profiles developed by our head roaster, sample roasting and potentially developing your own profiles as you prove your abilities. You will be sufficiently good with your hands to dismantle and maintain our three coffee roasters and flue systems.
This is a physical and responsible role since you'll be receiving raw coffee deliveries, managing coffee stock and safely utilising the correct equipment to roast and manoeuvre coffee.
Initially part time, but could be full time combined with assistant role (see above)

You'll also have fun and friendly attitude.
