We don't do chemical solvents!
If you choose to avoid caffeine you can still enjoy speciality coffee. All our decafs use a natural decaffeination process - either using just water: Swiss Water or Sparkling/Mountain water (aka CO2) process or Ethyl Acetate created by fermenting molasses from naturally occurring sugarcane. All these methods selectively remove caffeine without impacting other compounds that give coffee its flavour and aroma.
The caffeine in most decafs is removed using methylene chloride, a harsh chemical solvent that can also damage bean structure that can also remove flavour and aroma as well as caffeine.
