A delicate coffee with a floral Jasmine aroma and gentle lime acidity. There's honey-like sweetness too and the finish is dry like black tea.

Altitude 1900 - 2000 meters above seal level

This is an improved varietal called 1274, but also a mix of Ethiopian Heirloom.

Jimma or Djimmah in the South West of Ethiopia.

Coffees had been grown in this region for generations yet, despite having the ideal climate, altitude and fertile soils, there had been little focus on quality and the coffees earned low prices.

In 2010, around 100 farmers, established the Duromina coffee co-op 'to improve their lives' (a literal translation of Duromina) and, through TechnoServe's Coffee Initiative, gained finance, technical and business support to radically improve the coffee. Two years later Duromina was winning awards and best in Africa accolades and now enjoys the reputation and returns to pay off the hard work with coffees scoring over 90 SCA points.
